While grants are occasionally made to governmental agencies, local nonprofits receive priority. Requests will be considered from groups that do not have tax-exemption status, provided that they have a fiscal agent with the appropriate tax status. In projects involving a partnership of agencies, a single agency with the appropriate tax status and financial management capacity must assume the role of lead organization.
Individuals are not eligible for grants except for applicants to academic scholarships.

It has been the policy of the Valley Community Foundation (VCF) to make grants in a range from $250 to $10,000 to contribute to and support innovative programs and the urgent needs of their local nonprofits serving the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton, Connecticut.
Funding Information
Grant decisions are made on a rolling basis and range from $250 – $10,000
Examples of potential funding include but are not limited to providing a program or service virtually, or capacity building needs such as hiring a consultant to provide budget assistance, or purchasing technology to enable virtual programming or allowing staff to work.
