These grants are intended to prevent inappropriately long stays in foster care and to promote the healthy development of children through increased safety, permanency and well-being. Services provided under this grant program include the following sub-programs of grants: (A) post-adoption and guardianship respite, (B) adoption and guardianship support and preservation services, and (C) adoption specialty (sub-categories: Adoption Listing Service (ALS), Family Matters, DCFS Closed File Information and Search Service and Confidentiality Intermediary Service of Illinois and Maintaining Adoption Connection).
