DCFS is responsible for the overall planning, delivery and evaluation of comprehensive, quality services to pregnant and parenting youth in care and their children who reside in the State of Illinois. DCFS provides, purchases and monitors a system of statewide services to all DCFS youth who are pregnant and/or parenting and as such, is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of quality services to meet their needs for safety, well-being and transition to adulthood while at the same time supporting their role as parents to provide for their children’s healthy development in a stable living environment. DCFS utilizes a variety of placement and support services to achieve these goals.
