The American Chai Trust accepts applications for projects in the New York City Metropolitan area (New York and New Jersey). Past support has been given to performing arts organizations, domestic violence programs, social services, youth sports including skateboarding, art research, soup kitchen/food program, museums, youth programs, and legal services for the poor.Interested applicants should submit a proposal including:* A description of the proposed project including a budget, proof concerning the need for the project, and the projected time that it will require to complete said project.* A copy of the IRS Ruling that the organization is tax exempt and is not a private foundation.* A copy of the organization's most recent financial statement.Please be advised that it is the trust 's policy not to give grants to any recipient more than once in any 12 month period .
