Anderson Foundation makes grants primarily for community funds, higher and secondary education, and cultural programs; support also for social service and youth agencies, civic and community efforts, educational and research associations, and religion.Related fields of interest include: agriculture; arts; children/youth, services; community/economic development; federated giving programs; government/public administration; and human services.The foundation provides the following types of support: annual campaigns; building/renovation; capital campaigns; conferences/seminars; emergency funds; general/operating support; matching/challenge support; program development; publication; research; scholarship funds; and seed money.Giving is primarily in the greater Toledo, Ohio, area, including Maumee and Columbus. Giving also to organizations located within the areas of the Anderson plants in the following cities: Champaign, Illinois; Delphi and Dunkirk, Indiana, and Albion, Potterville, Webberville, and White Pigeon, Michigan. The foundation does not provide support for private foundations, public high schools or elementary schools. The foundation does not make grants to individuals, or for endowment funds, travel, or building or operating funds for churches or elementary schools.While applications may be submitted at any time, board meeting dates are: March, June, September, and December, usually the 3rd Monday of the month. Proposals should be submitted three weeks before the board meeting. Final notification is given generally within three months of review, depending on completeness of proposal. 4/26/2021
