The Anne Arundel County Government and the Chesapeake Bay Trust are accepting applications to the Community Planting program. The goal of this program is to help communities and organizations increase the number of trees and tree canopy in neighborhoods, parks, and communities throughout Anne Arundel County. Neighborhood by neighborhood, community stewardship projects are helping to raise public awareness about the health of our region’s tree canopy, watersheds, air quality, streams, rivers, and the Bay, as well as the steps that can be taken to restore and protect them.Eligible projects include community tree plantings and invasive species removal in Anne Arundel County. A list of potential projects is available in the RFP.Non-profit organizations, community associations, faith-based organizations, service and civic groups, public agencies, soil/water conservation districts & resource conservation and development councils, public and independent higher educational institutions, individual private or commercial landowners may apply.A grant match is encouraged, but not required. Reimbursement cannot be made for already completed projects.All proposals must be received at least six weeks prior to the start of the proposed projects.
