Applicant organization must be located in or serve residents of Woodford County Applicant organization must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a public institution or entity that has a designated charitable purpose, such as school or unit of government. Applicant organization must have a GuideStar Seal of Transparency at the Gold level or higher. org is a national database of nonprofits recognized as 501(c)3 organizations by the IRS.  Organizations have free access to their profile on the site and can provide added information to increase the level of Transparency. Applicant organization must not discriminate in their hiring, volunteer participation, or provision client services. Exceptions may be made for hiring practices for religious organizations who can demonstrate bona fide occupational qualifications based on religious beliefs for employment. Applicant organizations with religious affiliations will be considered for funding only if the project for which they seek support attempts to address the needs of the wider community without regard to religious beliefs.

WCCF will give preference to proposals which seek to:

Make significant, long-term ripple impacts in the community.
Leverage two or more nonprofits working collaboratively to create transformative and sustainable community change and build capacity in the local community and/or organizations.
Significantly expand meaningful civic involvement and build social capital within the community.
Build on demonstrated/documented best practices.
Implement unique innovative approaches to address community needs.
Build upon progress achieved through prior grants.
Bridge differences among individuals, organizations or sectors of the community.
Increase an organization’s ability to expand a successful program to serve a high-need population.

Funding Information

Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded. The total grant pool available to award is $20,000.
Grant Period: November 2023-September 2024.

Political activities, lobbying or advocacy
Existing obligations (e.g., debt reduction, operating deficits).
