The Arthur N. Rupe Foundation is accepting letters of inquiry to the Dorothy D. Rupe Family Caregiver Grant Opportunity. Funding is available to Northern California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for projects designed to provide education, skills training, and/or respite for family caregivers. The foundation is particularly interested in supporting innovative, cost-effective projects that will help sustain and relieve caregivers providing home care to a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Projects should fill a gap in existing caregiver services and supports, and benefit lower- and middle-income families that do not qualify for government assistance. Grants may be used to initiate or expand a dementia care training effort. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: - Evidence-based interventions - Dementia sensitivity trainings - First responder trainings - Volunteer respite care programs LOIs are accepted on a rolling basis and will be considered throughout the year. Should the project fall within the Foundation's mission and areas of interest, they will respond with a request for additional information or an invitation to submit a full-length proposal. 2022 board meetings will be held in March, June, and November.
