The Miller-Dwan Foundation accepts grant applications for projects and programs intended to affect people’s health and wellness both locally and in the surrounding region of interest. The Foundation encourages and supports healthy lifestyles while prioritizing larger healthcare-related collaborative efforts for greater systemic impact. The Foundation also supports community and hospital based programs, including promising solutions for diagnosed medical conditions that align with the stated mission. Funding Focus Areas: Healthcare services (vs. human services/social services) Improved health outcomes Miller-Dwan Foundation-identified health need initiatives Related to focus areas: Burn, Wound and Pain Care Cancer Care Behavioral Health Physical Rehabilitation Surgical Services Eligible Activities Include: Larger collaborative efforts that will reliably maximize multi-entity funding to address systemic change Program and project support Equipment IT Talent and training (with a strong preference for local trainings impacting multiple parties) Endowment related to the provision of direct healthcare services Ongoing operating support and/or overhead for programs providing direct health care services w/in our priority areas Funding that creates capacity and builds staying power Eligibility: The organization must be classified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; or classified as an organization under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code; or have an eligible fiscal agent. The organization must be located in, or providing services in, northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. If you are located outside our service area, you must be able to demonstrate collaborative and/or non-duplicative activities. The applying organization must have a conversation with the Miller-Dwan Foundation Grant’s Specialist to review potential funding.
