The Sunderland Foundation makes grants annually to publicly supported charitable organizations with tax exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation prefers to make grants for capital and special projects rather than for annual operating expenses.Grants for building construction, renovation, repairs and restoration of facilities are considered. Areas of interest include higher education, churches, youth serving agencies, health facilities, community buildings, museums, civic projects, and low maintenance, energy efficient housing projects sponsored by qualified tax exempt organizations. Grants to primary and secondary schools are generally not considered.Their online grant application will require the following information:Requesting organization details, mission, and purposeA statement regarding the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionInformation regarding the organization’s board of directors and governanceDetails regarding the nature of the project, why it is needed and expected outcomes and benefitsYou will be asked to attach the following files to the application:Detailed project budgetA schedule of project funding sourcesA financial operating planMost recent audited financial statements and IRS Form 990IRS 501(c)(3) Letter of DeterminationIRS Form W-9Any detailed plans, drawings, capital campaign brochures or other information you would like consideredThere is no application ; applications may be submitted at any time. 5/6
