The Ukraine Cultural Heritage Response Initiative - Resilience Building Component (UCHRI-RBC) supports exchanges and other activities that build or strengthen the capacity of Ukraine to protect and preserve its culture and identity. Applicants must apply by email to ukraineheritres@state.gov. Applicants CANNOT submit applications via Grants.gov. The Cultural Heritage Center (CHC), in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural
Affairs ECA) at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine
announce an open competition for organizations to submit proposals for funding
through the Ukraine Cultural Heritage Response Initiative-Resilience Building
Component (UCHRI-RBC) to support exchanges and other activities that build or
strengthen the capacity of Ukraine to protect and preserve its culture and
identity. Issuance of this funding opportunity does not constitute an award
commitment on the part of the U.S. government. Full implementation of this
program is subject to the availability of funds.
Program Objectives: The overall intent of this initiative is to support programs
that build or strengthen the capacity of Ukraine to protect and preserve its
culture and identity. Supported programs may include, but are not limited to,
exchanges and other forms of interchange that:
• strengthen capacity to coordinate cultural heritage protection efforts,
including development of a multi-stakeholder national emergency response

system for the preservation, rescue, and stabilization of significant buildings
and objects, and development of a systematic approach for the digitization
of important records in archives, libraries and other cultural institutions,
and the management of international assistance,
• develop partnerships between U.S. and Ukrainian institutions and civil
society organizations to enhance mutual understanding and improve best
practices in the presentation of cultural patrimony to the public, including
archives.
