CFGH Taylor Endowment Fund 2025

The Taylor Endowment Fund 2025 is a grantmaking endowment established by Lyle and Ruth Taylor with the primary purpose of supporting charitable organizations that focus on historic preservation, environmental conservation, and civic engagement. Each year, the fund rotates its areas of interest, beginning in 2025 with environmental conservation, followed by civic engagement in 2026, and historic preservation in 2027. The fund seeks to support organizations that are working to make a positive impact in these areas within the Greater Huntsville, Alabama region, specifically in Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties. The Taylor Endowment Fund provides financial assistance for various types of projects. The preferred types of support include program support, general operating funds, and capital expenditures related to the designated areas of interest. The fund is open to charitable organizations that are recognized as 501(c)(3) public charities by the IRS. This includes schools, religious institutions, and government agencies as long as the funds are used for a public purpose within the specified geographic region. Grants from the Taylor Endowment Fund range from $2,500 to $8,500. However, the fund has exclusions for certain types of activities and organizations. Ineligible recipients include organizations that are not 501(c)(3) public charities, projects related to debt reduction, endowment campaigns, grants to individuals, special events, membership drives, conference expenses, and political activities. Furthermore, grants cannot be used to fund annual campaigns or to influence political activities. The Taylor Endowment Fund’s grant awards are determined by the Taylor Endowment Grants Committee, with final approval from the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Community Impact Committee, under the authority of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Successful grantees are required to sign a Grant Agreement, which outlines how funds should be used and the measurable outcomes expected. This helps ensure accountability and that grant funds achieve their intended impact. The deadline for the 2025 grant cycle is 5:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
