FINNOVATION Fellowship Program
This program provides training and financial support to early-stage entrepreneurs in Minnesota who are dedicated to creating socially impactful and sustainable businesses.
The FINNOVATION Fellowship Program, facilitated by the FINNOVATION Institute based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a support initiative for impact-driven entrepreneurs seeking to launch and lead socially beneficial and sustainable businesses. In 2025, the program has been redesigned to expand its reach and better accommodate early-stage entrepreneurs. The new two-phase structure, comprising the Discovery Module and the Fellows Module, allows more individuals to engage with the program while receiving tailored training and support to advance their ventures. The Discovery Module, the first phase of the program, runs from September to December 2025 and accepts up to 18 participants. It focuses on helping participants refine their business ideas by developing a deep understanding of market opportunities and value propositions. This component is held in-person on Saturdays and does not offer a stipend. Following the Discovery Module, all participants are considered for the second phase, the Fellows Module, which is significantly more intensive. The Fellows Module takes place from January to June 2026, accepting up to nine participants who commit 20 to 30 hours per week. This phase includes a stipend of over $50,000. The curriculum covers operational and strategic planning, business development, leadership skills, and culminates in a comprehensive business plan and pitch. It is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and confidence necessary to sustain their ventures long-term. Upon successful completion of both modules, participants gain official status as FINNOVATION Fellows and are welcomed into the program’s Alumni Network. This network offers continuous support through monthly roundtables and other exclusive opportunities, encouraging long-term collaboration and mentorship among peers. The program is open to individuals at various stages of their entrepreneurial journey, particularly those with a strong commitment to social impact. While geographic limitations are not specified, it is implied that the program is Minnesota-based, with in-person sessions held in Minneapolis. No explicit eligibility restrictions or exclusions are mentioned, making it broadly accessible to aspiring social entrepreneurs. Applications for the 2025-26 cohort are currently open and will close on June 1, 2025. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend one of the virtual information sessions offered on May 9, May 20, or May 28, 2025.
