Healthy Greenville Grant 2025
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions in Greenville County to implement health-related programs that improve community well-being and address key health issues.
The 2025 Healthy Greenville Grant Initiative is a funding opportunity managed by the Greenville Health Authority (GHA) and funded through Prisma Health-Upstate. The grant program aims to support health-related care, health research, and health education initiatives benefiting residents of Greenville County, South Carolina. Each year, Prisma Health-Upstate provides $4 million to GHA to administer grants that align with the overarching goal of making Greenville County the healthiest county in America. The initiative follows a structured and evidence-based grantmaking process designed to address the key health needs of the community. The grant is available to nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, government agencies, academic institutions, and collaborative partnerships. Programs must directly benefit Greenville County residents and align with the priority health areas identified by Prisma Health’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The key focus areas include mental health, overweight and obesity, heart disease and stroke, access to healthcare, social determinants of health, and healthy eating and exercise. Both new and existing programs are considered for funding, provided they demonstrate a track record of success and measurable outcomes. Applicants are required to submit a letter of intent by February 21, 2025, outlining their proposed project, anticipated outcomes, collaborative partners, and funding request. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full application by June 20, 2025. The application process is rigorous and includes evaluation by peer reviewers, a grant committee, and the GHA Board of Trustees. Funding decisions are made based on the merit of proposals, alignment with the grant’s objectives, and potential impact on community health. Award notifications will be announced in late September 2025. The grant funding may be awarded for single or multi-year projects. Allowable expenses include program costs such as contractor/vendor fees, personnel costs, and strategies to achieve project goals. Capital funding is also considered if it aligns with the program’s objectives. Indirect costs are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The grant prohibits funding for for-profit entities, organizations currently participating in an existing Healthy Greenville funding cycle, and projects outside Greenville County. Successful applicants must demonstrate financial sustainability and provide detailed plans on how the program will continue beyond the grant period. Additionally, grant recipients are required to report progress regularly and participate in public forums where the community is informed of funding outcomes. Transparency, accountability, and measurable impact are core principles guiding the Healthy Greenville grant initiative. All grant-related inquiries should be directed to dcooper@cfgreenville.org. The full application process, including eligibility criteria and submission guidelines, can be accessed through the Greenville Health Authority website.
