FY25 Leaders of Tomorrow: Youth Violence Prevention Grant Program

The FY25 Leaders of Tomorrow Grant Program is a youth violence prevention initiative organized by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The program seeks proposals from non-profit Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) that aim to reduce risk factors associated with youth violence while contributing to the long-term well-being and success of at-risk youth. Organizations are encouraged to develop strategies that align with evidence-based approaches to violence prevention. For Fiscal Year 2025, each grant can provide up to $100,000, with total available funding capped at $500,000. To apply, organizations must receive an invitation from OAG or be prior recipients of the FY24 Leaders of Tomorrow Grant. Applications must be submitted via the Zoomgrants platform by 2:00 PM EST on Friday, July 12, 2024. Paper submissions must also meet the same deadline if submitted to the OAG office in Washington, D.C. Eligibility requirements include a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) designation, good standing with both the IRS and the Government of the District of Columbia, and demonstrated financial and administrative capacity to handle grant funds and meet program requirements. Organizations must also show the ability to manage the grant for at least 30 days if payments are delayed or penalties applied. The application process includes components such as a cover page, proposal narrative, budget with justification, and various administrative documents, including proof of non-profit status, business licenses, and financial statements. The application must follow strict formatting rules and is limited to 10 pages, excluding attachments. Applications will be evaluated by an external panel based on organizational capacity, staffing, service descriptions, timeline and deliverables, and budget. Scores will be assigned according to a 100-point scale, and final award decisions will be made by the Attorney General. Award notifications will be issued within 30-45 days after the application deadline, with grants disbursed on a cost reimbursement basis, allowing for up to 25% of funds to be requested in advance, subject to approval.
