Grant Description

The City of Brighton is accepting applications for its 2025 Brighton Creative Community Grants, which provide funding to support activities that strengthen economic development, promote tourism, assist cultural arts programs, and fund special events. These grants, financed by the City’s Lodging Tax on short-term lodging, aim to attract new visitors and businesses while benefiting the Brighton community. Eligible projects must align with the objectives of the Lodging Tax as defined in Brighton Municipal Code Section 3-40-50, provide measurable benefits to the community, and be completed by November 30, 2025. Funding can be applied to operational or capital expenses but cannot be used for personnel costs or transferred to other entities. A final report is required by December 31, 2025. Unused funds may only be carried forward with prior City approval, and grant funds are contingent upon the City’s annual budget approval and the applicant’s completion of required agreements and reporting. Applications are being accepted online until December 29, 2024, with a rolling monthly review process if funds remain available after the initial deadline. The City’s review committee will evaluate applications monthly, determining awards and amounts. No new awards will be issued after September 30, 2025. Organizations with projects that encourage visitors to spend time and money in Brighton are strongly encouraged to apply. Detailed guidelines, qualifications, and the application form are available on the City’s website at www.brightonco.gov/3004/28800/Brighton-Creative-Community-Grants. For further information or assistance, contact Kristen Chernosky, Communications & Engagement Director, at kchernosky@brightonco.gov or 303-655-2061. This grant offers an opportunity to contribute to Brighton's cultural and economic vibrancy while leveraging funding to create impactful projects that inspire community engagement and growth. Applicants should carefully review the criteria to ensure compliance and prepare detailed proposals.
