2025-2026 Impact Philanthropy Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that address urgent community needs and empower low-income households in Coastal and Western Connecticut.
United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut (UWCWC) has opened its 2025–2026 Impact Philanthropy Grant Program, offering $332,000 in competitive funding to support nonprofit organizations addressing urgent community needs and driving systemic change. The application period begins March 17, 2025, and closes on April 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM. This funding is part of a broader $882,000 investment by UWCWC in nonprofit support and individual relief, including $400,000 in community investments and $150,000 in direct assistance to ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) individuals through nonprofit referral agencies. This grant cycle offers two distinct funding opportunities. The Basic Needs Grant provides $232,000 in total funding to organizations delivering essential services such as food, housing, child care, utilities, and healthcare to individuals and families living at or below the ALICE Threshold. The Community Catalyst Grant, a new initiative, offers $100,000 in unrestricted support to grassroots and civic engagement organizations that work to empower ALICE households and build community resilience. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or have a fiscal sponsor and must serve populations within UWCWC’s 27-town service area, excluding Greenwich and Shelton. Additionally, applicants must directly serve households at or below the ALICE Threshold. Organizations must also meet the specific requirements for either the Basic Needs or Community Catalyst grant, as detailed in the full Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend one of three informational sessions scheduled for March 12, March 20, and March 25, 2025, to gain insights into the grant process. Applications are submitted through the e-CImpact online portal, with options for both digital and downloadable Word document applications. Selected grantees will be notified by the end of June 2025. For detailed guidance, applicants are advised to review the full NOFA and application guidelines. Questions can be directed to UWCWC via email at communityimpact@unitedwaycwc.org.
