Grant Description

Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) Texas Chapter is dedicated to providing children in the North Texas area with opportunities to lead productive lives, despite any obstacles they face. SCC raises funds through events and activities to provide grants to nonprofit children’s organizations specifically located in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. In 2024, SCC Texas distributed over $203,000 to local organizations serving these communities. Priority consideration for funding is given to organizations focusing on the homeless, foster children, orphans, and victims of sex trafficking. Eligible applicants must be existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose primary mission centers on serving children within the designated counties. SCC focuses its grantmaking across three pillars: Critical needs (such as victims of sex trafficking, homelessness, foster populations, and food security), Medical needs (including illness, dental, disabilities, and therapy), and Educational initiatives (such as tutoring, literacy, and after-school programs). Capital projects and operational funding, including staff salaries, are not eligible for funding. The 2025 grant cycle opens on March 3, 2025, and closes on June 13, 2025, at midnight. Organizations must submit an online application by the deadline to be considered. Applications accepted after the first phase will proceed to a second-round review where additional documentation, including 501(c)(3) verification, financials, board list, mission statement, organizational chart, and a completed Budget Tracker Worksheet, must be submitted within one week of notification. A site visit and interview by an SCC Trustee will occur between September and November for organizations progressing to the second round. Final funding decisions are communicated by the first full week of December 2025. Grant recipients are required to attend the Grant Ceremony on December 4, 2025, to receive their awards. Volunteer participation at SCC events during the calendar year is highly encouraged, though not mandatory. Any questions regarding the grant cycle should be directed to Marissa Chaney via email at mchaney@texasmotorspeedway.com.
