Chinook Fund Grant

The Chinook Fund supports grassroots social justice organizations across Colorado by offering grants that fund community-led efforts aimed at addressing the root causes of oppression. Since its inception, the fund has provided over $5 million in funding to more than 500 organizations, with 90% of grantees led by Black, Indigenous, and communities of color. The grants, which range from $4,000 to $10,000, focus on organizations engaged in community organizing, addressing systemic issues such as racism, sexism, classism, and more. Grantees are selected by the Giving Project, a community-led process that ensures funding decisions are aligned with social justice values. The Spring 2025 grant cycle has an application deadline of February 13, 2025. Workshops and additional resources are available to assist prospective applicants in navigating the grant process. Organizations applying must demonstrate a commitment to community organizing, leadership by those most affected by injustice, and efforts to create long-lasting systemic change. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status can apply with a fiscal sponsor or with an organizational bank account.
