Fort Atkinson Community Grant
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, for innovative projects that benefit the local community in areas such as education, culture, and charitable initiatives.
The Fort Atkinson Community Foundation (FACF) offers Community Grants to support nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations that serve a public purpose in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The Foundation, with a long-standing commitment to strengthening the Fort Atkinson community, accepts applications from organizations whose initiatives align with its mission to promote educational, cultural, charitable, or benevolent advancement within the local community. The Community Grants are designed to fund creative and innovative projects that directly address the needs of Fort Atkinson residents. Projects must demonstrate a clear community benefit and are expected to be completed within a specific timeframe, typically not exceeding one year. The grants are strictly project-based and do not support general operating expenses or wages, ongoing organizational costs, endowments, or religious or political purposes. To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofit, tax-exempt entities. Grant requests from school-related initiatives must include approval from a building principal or the District Administrator. Similarly, city department-related projects must obtain approval and a signature from the City Manager. The Foundation emphasizes its intent to avoid funding efforts that address prior deficits, fundraising drives, or campaigns. The FACF Board of Directors reviews grant applications quarterly. Completed applications must be submitted by the following deadlines: March 15 for the April meeting, June 15 for the July meeting, September 15 for the October meeting, and December 15 for the January meeting. While there is no published open date, applicants are encouraged to reach out in advance of deadlines to allow adequate time for preparation. To begin the application process, prospective applicants must contact Sue Hartwick, the Executive Director, at (920) 563-3210 or via email at facf@fortfoundation.org to request a grant application. All submissions must be mailed or hand-delivered to the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation's office located at 244 North Main Street, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.
