Texas Foundations Fund
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Texas that deliver essential housing services and critical home repairs for very low-income residents.
The 2025 Texas Foundations Fund is administered by the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC), a state-supported nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas. This annual program is designed to support critical housing services for very low-income residents throughout Texas by partnering with eligible nonprofit organizations that focus on housing stability and essential housing-related services. The fund provides financial support to nonprofits offering either critical home repairs or supportive housing services. These services include rehabilitation of owner-occupied single-family homes to address unsafe conditions and accessibility improvements, or housing counseling and support for individuals residing in permanent supportive housing. All services must be delivered free of charge, and grant recipients must exclusively serve households earning 50% or less of the area median family income. Grants are issued in fixed amounts depending on the size of the applicant’s operating budget: $10,000 for organizations under $2 million, $13,000 for those between $2 million and $10 million, and $25,000 for those above $10 million. A total of $1.25 million is available for disbursement in 2025. Applications are considered on a rolling basis until 5:00 pm CDT on August 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted. Grants are distributed in a single installment upon execution of the grant agreement. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with at least three years of housing-related service in Texas and at least two years operating the proposed program. The application process requires organizations to pass an eligibility quiz before submitting a full application online. Required components include a description of the program, geographic coverage, demographic data of the population served, budget, and evidence of community partnerships. Evaluation criteria focus on organizational mission, defined geographic scope, demonstrated community need, community partnerships, and performance history. All grant recipients must submit a report at the end of the one-year term documenting grant use, program outcomes, and success stories. For application assistance, contact Anna Orendain at [email protected] or by phone at 888-638-3555. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the full program guidelines and FAQ, and to apply as early as possible due to limited funding.
