Community Foundation of Louisville’s Vogt Award
This grant provides $25,000 in funding and support to early-stage businesses in the Louisville area that are focused on innovation and economic development.
The Vogt Invention & Innovation Awards, administered by the Community Foundation of Louisville, celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2025. Launched in 1999 through an endowment from philanthropist Henry V. Heuser Sr., the program is deeply rooted in a mission to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and the economic development of the Louisville region. Over its quarter-century of operation, the Vogt Awards have played a vital role in empowering local entrepreneurs with the resources needed to transform their inventive ideas into impactful ventures. Each year, up to six early-stage businesses in the Louisville area are selected to receive $25,000 in non-dilutive grant funding. Recipients also gain access to a 10-week accelerator program that includes startup coaching, mentorship, strategic business introductions, and public recognition. This opportunity is unique in that it allows entrepreneurs to retain full ownership of their companies while benefiting from structured support and funding to foster growth. In a new development for 2025, award recipients may also qualify for an additional $25,000 in capital through a participating partner organization. The application window for the 2025 Vogt Awards is currently open and will close on June 9, 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend an information session on May 21, 2025, hosted by Program Director Lisa Bajorinas. This session will provide tips on crafting a competitive application and clarify eligibility criteria. The program is specifically designed for early-stage businesses that are poised to disrupt their industries, expand their customer base, and build key partnerships. Ideal candidates are characterized by their innovative drive, strategic clarity, and potential for significant business development. The program's leadership, including Bajorinas and Justin Hogan, Program Officer for Economic Equity, are available to support applicants with guidance and information throughout the application process. The Vogt Awards stand as a testament to Louisville’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent. With a well-established track record of success and community impact, the Awards continue to be a catalyst for groundbreaking ideas and local economic vitality. Those interested in applying or learning more can contact the Community Foundation of Louisville or attend the scheduled information session for personalized assistance.
