Grant Description

The After School Programs – Non-School Districts grant, in accordance with 23 Ill. Admin. Code 268, enables eligible entities to establish after-school programs that provide opportunities to support and improve academic achievement and promote positive behaviors. Providing enrichment activities in a safe and healthy environment can strengthen public, private, and philanthropic partnerships so that quality support services are more durable for students facing the greatest challenges. Such grants support working families and favorably impact the quality of communities. The After School Programs – Non-School Districts grant is separate from the federally funded 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant. An organization may receive awards under both funding opportunities, but After School Programs grant funds should not be combined with 21st CCLC grant funds. The funds should be used to operate independent programs so as to serve as many students as possible.
