Grant Description

The Comcast RISE program is a targeted initiative developed by Comcast to support the growth and resilience of small businesses that are dedicated to uplifting their local communities. Designed with a strong focus on fostering economic advancement, this competitive grant program provides an extensive support package for selected businesses. In 2025, Comcast RISE will award 500 small businesses across five U.S. cities: Boston, Massachusetts; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Nashville, Tennessee; Seattle, Washington (King County); and South Valley, Utah (Wasatch Front). Eligible businesses may apply between May 1 and May 31, 2025. The grant package includes a combination of business consultation services, educational resources, a monetary grant, creative production assistance, a media schedule, and a technology makeover. These resources aim to equip businesses with tools and exposure needed to sustain operations, expand market presence, and elevate service delivery. The application process is hosted online and consists of two parts: an Eligibility Criteria Form and a full Application Form. Applicants must first complete the Eligibility Criteria Form, which takes approximately five minutes. This form determines initial eligibility and cannot be altered once submitted. Only those who meet the eligibility criteria will be allowed to proceed with the application. The second portion of the application requires approximately 15 to 30 minutes and can be saved and resumed prior to final submission. Once submitted, no changes are allowed. Applicants must create an account through the program portal to begin and will receive email confirmation upon registration. Eligibility is strictly defined. Businesses must be independently owned, not franchises, and operate within the defined city/county ZIP codes as confirmed via USPS. The business must have been in continuous operation for at least two years and generating revenue for the past twelve months. Additional criteria include ownership of at least 51% by the applicant(s), no more than 100 employees, and absence of prior felony, tax-related, or child support convictions within the past ten years. Several categories of businesses, such as nonprofits, political advertisers, and those involved with marijuana, adult entertainment, or ride-sharing services, are explicitly excluded from eligibility. Each applicant must ensure compliance with company policies regarding participation in external promotions. Only one application per business is allowed, and previous recipients of any Comcast RISE grant elements are ineligible to reapply. Questions regarding the application process can be directed to ComcastRISESupport@ey.com. Detailed eligibility requirements and official rules are outlined in the program’s terms, which applicants must review and accept during the application process.
