Community Grant to Empower Women and Girls in Texas

The Texas Women’s Foundation advances economic security and leadership opportunities for women and girls across Texas. With a focus on addressing poverty, the foundation has supported 167 women- and girl-serving organizations, distributing $4.9 million in grants this fiscal year. It also invested over $1 million in programs designed to empower girls and prepare women to lead in their communities and workplaces. The Community Grant Cycle, which supports nonprofits in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding counties, is the foundation's primary grantmaking opportunity. Applications open on Monday, November 11, 2024, and close on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM CST. Optional in-person information sessions are scheduled in December 2024 across Tarrant, Collin, and Dallas counties to assist potential applicants. The grant review process includes site visits between February 27 and March 27, 2025, with final notifications for site-visited applicants on May 12, 2025. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations with a three-year operating history, serve clients in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Tarrant, and nearby North Texas areas, and ensure that at least 75% of those benefitting from grant funding are women and/or girls, inclusive of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expressions.
