City of Emeryville Community Promotions Grant
This grant provides funding to individuals and organizations for community-driven projects and events that enhance the cultural and social life of Emeryville.
The City of Emeryville is offering the Community Promotions Grant for the 2025-2026 funding year, with applications available starting January 21, 2025, and due by February 26, 2025. The grant provides up to $10,000 per award to support programming and events that benefit the Emeryville community. A subcommittee composed of five members from various community committees, along with a Community Services Staff member, will review all applications. The subcommittee will then submit funding recommendations to the Emeryville City Council, which has the final authority to approve or deny grants. This grant aims to support a variety of community-driven projects, including special events, educational programs, and other initiatives that enrich the cultural and social life of Emeryville. Past recipients have included community service providers, arts organizations, youth-focused groups, and senior service programs. Both individuals and organizations are eligible to apply, and applicants do not need a fiscal sponsor, though guidance on the benefits of having one will be provided in an applicant workshop. To qualify, applicants must either be located in Emeryville or conduct their proposed activity within the city. The project must provide long-term benefits to the local community. A letter of support from a relevant entity, such as the Youth Services Supervisor for projects related to after-school programs, is required. Additionally, grant recipients must secure liability insurance, indemnifying the City of Emeryville against damages, with coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. The application process includes completing an online form and submitting supporting documentation, such as a proposed budget worksheet, an insurance affidavit, and a program/event support letter. Applicants must clearly state the funding amount needed for their project, up to the $10,000 cap. Successful applicants will be required to submit an evaluation report upon project completion. Key dates for the grant cycle include a pre-application workshop on February 5, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Emeryville Center of Community Life (ECCL). Applications will be assessed beginning the week of March 3, 2025, with final funding decisions made by the Emeryville City Council on April 15, 2025. Funds will be disbursed to approved recipients by July 2025, and projects must be completed by June 30, 2026. A final close-out report is due by July 31, 2026. For more information, applicants can contact Rebecca Sermeno, Community Services Director, at 510-450-4314 or via email at rebecca.sermeno@emeryville.org.
