Georgia-Pacific Grant

Georgia-Pacific (GP) provides grants to nonprofit organizations through a focus on four key areas: Education, Enrichment of Community, Entrepreneurship, and Environment. These "Four E" focus areas guide their decision-making process for both charitable donations and company-sponsored volunteer programs. Grants are designed to strengthen communities, particularly those where Georgia-Pacific has manufacturing facilities, by improving their long-term well-being and sustainability. To determine if a project qualifies for funding, organizations need to ensure that their program aligns with GP’s mission, values, and focus areas. The project must serve communities where GP operates and demonstrate a positive, long-term impact. Nonprofit organizations seeking funding must meet specific criteria, including being recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code, or being a public school or qualified governmental entity. Additionally, the applicant must pass an eligibility quiz and complete the electronic application process, which includes submitting all required documentation. Georgia-Pacific does not set predetermined award amounts for grants, scholarships, or in-kind donations. Instead, the value of the program to the community and available funding resources are considered during the review process. Organizations based outside of Metro Atlanta are advised to reach out to their local GP facility to explore support opportunities. The grant application process is open throughout the year on a rolling basis, but applicants are encouraged to submit requests by October 31 due to limited funds at the end of the year. After submitting an application, organizations can expect a formal written response within 45 days. If an application is declined, GP provides specific reasons for the rejection in the formal notification sent to the primary contact. This grant program is well-suited for nonprofit organizations focused on improving education, entrepreneurship, the environment, and community enrichment, especially in areas where GP has a local presence.
