Grant Description

The Denver Business Journal’s 2025 Outstanding Women in Business awards program is accepting nominations to honor women leaders who are driving innovation, delivering results, and making a significant community impact in the Denver metro area. Nominees must be based in one of the seven counties in the metro area and will be evaluated on leadership qualities, contributions to their organizations, and community involvement. Self-nominations are encouraged, and the program also accepts nominations from clients and service providers who believe in the impact of their nominee's work. Nominees must demonstrate strong leadership within their organizations and community, with a history of stepping into expanded roles, implementing new systems, or initiating programs that advance their company’s mission. Additionally, judges will evaluate the nominee’s community involvement, such as board service, volunteer work, fundraising, or launching new community programs. Past winners are eligible only for the Lifetime Achievement Award, and each nominee may be nominated up to three times. Selected honorees will be featured in a special section of the Denver Business Journal on August 1, 2025, and recognized at an awards celebration on July 31. The judging process emphasizes substance over volume; multiple submissions or mentions do not increase a nominee’s chance of winning. Effective nominations are concise, focusing on specific and quantifiable achievements rather than general praise or personality traits. Nominators should avoid unnecessary adjectives and instead offer clear, impactful examples of the nominee’s work, with measurable outcomes such as growth figures or revenue generated. Recognizing winners in the Denver Business Journal provides not only public acknowledgment of their achievements but also enhances visibility for their organizations among community leaders, potential partners, and investors. The awards celebration will offer networking opportunities with other award-winning professionals and business leaders, making it a valuable event for connecting within the Denver business community. Nominations are due by 9 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025. All entries must be submitted via the official online template, as letters of recommendation will not be reviewed. For additional details, contact Events Director Jan Wambolt, or for sponsorship information, reach out to VP of Sales Drew Schrimsher at the Denver Business Journal.
