Disability Inclusion Fund Grant Opportunity
This funding opportunity supports U.S.-based organizations led by people with disabilities that focus on social justice, advocacy, and community organizing to promote equity and inclusion.
The Disability Inclusion Fund (DIF) at Borealis Philanthropy is currently accepting applications for its 2025 grant cycle. This funding opportunity is designed to support U.S.-based disability-led organizations working at the intersections of social justice, advocacy, arts, culture, and policy change. Grants aim to empower movements that are rooted in disability justice and aligned with the values of equity, access, and inclusion. Borealis Philanthropy is a national philanthropic intermediary that funds movements for transformational change. The DIF is backed by the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy and seeks to amplify the voices of those most impacted by ableism, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, queer, gender non-conforming, and women with disabilities. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, fiscally sponsored projects, and charitable-purpose LLCs with committed revenue under $1 million. Applicants must demonstrate that over 50% of their leadership (management, advisory, or governing board) are people with disabilities. Projects must be U.S.-based and focused on community organizing, policy advocacy, narrative change, and coalition-building, rather than direct services or research. Grant amounts will range from $25,000 to $100,000 for one to two-year terms and should not exceed 25% of the applicant’s total committed annual budget. Applications must be submitted via FormAssembly, and include answers to several narrative questions about the organization's mission, programs, partnerships, and impact measurement. An informational webinar will be held on June 2, 2025 at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT, and ASL interpretation and real-time captioning will be available. A recording will be posted on the FAQ page. The deadline to submit proposals is June 25, 2025 at 11:59 pm ET. Notifications regarding awards will be sent by December 5, 2025. Borealis provides application accommodations, including alternative submission formats such as phone, Zoom, or Word docs, upon request. For questions about the application or funding scope, applicants are encouraged to email DIF@borealisphilanthropy.org or grants@borealisphilanthropy.org. All interested applicants must complete an eligibility quiz before accessing the full application form.
