Support for Community Events Grant Program

The Town of Avon is inviting nonprofit organizations to apply for its Support for Community Events Grant Program, which offers financial assistance for events occurring between March 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025. This program is designed to support local festivals, special events, and community programs that provide recreational and cultural opportunities for Avon residents and promote the town’s vibrancy. The deadline for applications is January 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Eligible organizations must adhere to the program’s guidelines, which are available for download on the Town of Avon’s website under the Recreation and Parks Department section. Applications must be completed using the official Application Form (Appendix A) and can be submitted either in hard copy or via email. Submissions should be sent to the Department of Recreation & Parks at 60 West Main Street, Avon, CT 06001, or emailed to avonrec@avonct.gov. Once submitted, applications will undergo a review by a staff committee. This committee will make recommendations to the Town Council, which is expected to finalize funding decisions during its regular meeting on February 6, 2025. Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to carefully review all requirements and ensure their submissions meet the program’s standards to maximize their chances of receiving funding. The grant program operates on a cycle, and the next round of applications will support events occurring between July 1, 2025, and October 31, 2025. The application release date for this cycle is April 1, 2025, with submissions due by May 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Funding decisions for the second cycle are anticipated at the Town Council meeting on June 5, 2025.
