Façade Improvement Grant

Old Town Cape’s Design Committee has launched the 2024 Façade Improvement Grant to enhance the appearance and curb appeal of commercial buildings in downtown Cape Girardeau. The grant aims to boost the economic performance of downtown businesses, attract new investments, and inspire community pride. Eligible projects include new awnings, signage, lighting, and paint, and must be public-facing with all required permits and approvals from the City of Cape Girardeau before work begins. The grant is available to any business or property owner within the Old Town Cape district, with a total of $7,500 allocated for this program. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2024, and selected projects must be completed by the end of 2024. Up to five properties or businesses will receive matching funds of up to $1,500 each.
