Energy Sponsorship Program
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Energy Unit announces grants for organizations to enhance energy knowledge and awareness statewide, in alignment with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s climate priorities. Projects should target measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, adhering to the MI Healthy Climate Plan, with a grant period from February 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024 (those are not submission dates)

Additional Requirements
The maximum allowable request per event is $10,000 and is $250,000 per research project, however, the EGLE Energy Unit reserves the right to award additional funds for select events on a case-by-case basis. Applicants are required to provide 100% match for events and 33% match for research projects. The final award amount will be determined by the Energy Unit, and may be adjusted based on program criteria and the amount of remaining program funds. Funding will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, at the discretion of the Energy Unit and program priorities.
