Grant Description

The Climate Communication Fund, an initiative of the Communication Foundation, is designed to strengthen the communication capacity of climate civil society organizations (CSOs) worldwide. Many CSOs operate on limited budgets and lack specialized communication tools, making it difficult to maximize their outreach and impact. This fund seeks to address that gap by providing direct support tailored to each grantee's needs. The fund awards a single €10,000 grant to selected climate CSOs to develop or enhance their communication capabilities. Grant recipients receive customized packages that may include strategy development, workshops, coaching, media toolkits, storytelling audits, and outreach support. The fund aims to empower organizations to craft impactful messaging, engage communities, counter misinformation, and advocate more effectively with decision-makers. Eligibility is strictly defined. Only legally registered climate-focused CSOs or NGOs with fewer than 20 staff members and annual revenue below €5 million are eligible. Organizations must conduct practical on-site activities, be proficient in English, and commit at least 16 hours per month to the program. Entities such as individuals, companies, or advocacy-only groups are not eligible. To apply, organizations must submit a concise application via email to info@communicationfoundation.org with the subject line "CCF – [organization name]". The submission should be no more than two pages and must include the applicant’s country, communication gaps and goals, existing strategies, communication team details, proof of registration, staff participation plans, and online presence. The application window is currently open and will close on August 15, 2025. Applications must be complete upon submission. While the program is not offered on a rolling basis, future rounds are planned, and interested organizations are encouraged to subscribe to updates. Award decisions will be communicated within four weeks after the deadline. For further inquiries, applicants may contact Reinier van Oorsouw at reinier@communicationfoundation.org. Additional FAQs are available for common eligibility and submission questions.
