Grant Description

The FY25 SAFE (Student Awareness of Fire Education) and Senior SAFE Grant Program provides funding for fire departments across Massachusetts to deliver fire and life safety education to school-aged children and senior citizens. The application period runs from November 4, 2024, to December 10, 2024, at 5:00 PM, and all applications must be submitted electronically. A mandatory webinar, required for eligibility, must be attended in full by either the Fire Chief, a designated SAFE Educator, or the Grant Manager, with multiple sessions available through December 2, 2024. Applicants must comply with Massachusetts Fire Incident Reporting System (MFIRS) requirements and have fulfilled reporting obligations for any prior SAFE or Senior SAFE grants. This program aims to enhance public safety by addressing fire risks and other hazards, providing departments with the resources to deliver impactful education to these vulnerable populations.
