The Rhode Island Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) Partnerships for Success (PFS) program is specifically tailored to address gaps in alcohol and marijuana use prevention among youth and young adults aged 12-18 in certain communities. These communities include Newport, Tiverton, Burrillville, and Exeter-West Greenwich, identified as high-need areas for prevention efforts. The program, administered by the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals (BHDDH), collaborates with local community prevention providers to implement evidence-based programming aimed at reducing underage and problematic use of alcohol and marijuana among middle and high school students. Eligible applicants for funding include: Local government entities Academic institutions Non-profit organizations Other relevant agencies Schools/school districts Applicants are required to implement one or more preapproved evidence-based practices from a provided list.
