Community Engagement Evaluation and Data Coordination (CEED) Hub to Advance Data and Practice Transformation for Optimizing Oral Health For All Across the Lifespan (U01, Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
This funding opportunity aims to establish a central hub for community engagement and data coordination to improve oral health across all ages, inviting a wide range of organizations, including governments, educational institutions, and nonprofits, to collaborate on reducing oral health disparities.
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), operating under the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has released a forecast for a new funding opportunity intended to establish a Community Engagement Evaluation and Data (CEED) coordination hub. This initiative supports the formation of a CBPR (Community Based Participatory Research) Consortium called ADAPT—Advancing Data and Practice Transformation—for optimizing oral health across the lifespan. The CEED Hub will serve as a central node to coordinate data-driven and community engagement-related activities in collaboration with CBPR projects. The CEED Hub will play a pivotal role in three specific domains: providing support for data planning and technical assistance in research methodology and analytics, conducting community engagement evaluation, and managing infrastructure and operational support for the ADAPT initiative. The consortium will also be integrated with the NIH Community Engagement Alliance Consultative Resource (CEACR) and the Science Collaborative for Health disparities and Artificial intelligence Reduction of Errors (SCHARE) platform. These partnerships aim to strengthen the collective impact of data application and community collaboration to reduce oral health disparities nationwide. This opportunity will be offered under a cooperative agreement model using the U01 activity code. The funding category is discretionary, and clinical trials are not permitted under this NOFO. While specific award amounts (ceiling, floor, total program funding) have not yet been disclosed, the forecasted award and project start date is July 1, 2026. The anticipated application due date is October 7, 2025, with an estimated post date of July 3, 2025. These projected dates are subject to change as the opportunity progresses from forecast to active notice. Eligibility for this opportunity is broad, encompassing a range of applicant types. Eligible entities include state governments, county governments, small businesses, for-profit organizations other than small businesses, public and private institutions of higher education, independent school districts, public and Indian housing authorities, and various nonprofit and Native American tribal organizations. Notably, there is no cost sharing or matching requirement for applicants. As this is a forecasted opportunity, applications are not yet being accepted. The intent of the early notice is to allow interested applicants ample time to prepare strong, collaborative applications that align with the consortium’s goals. Prospective applicants are encouraged to begin considering their participation and forming relevant partnerships, especially those with expertise in population data science, program evaluation, and community-based quality improvement.
