Closed
Grant Description

The Hazardous Ash Tree Removal Sub-Grant is available exclusively to New Castle County residents to support the removal of hazardous ash trees on public land or open space. Grants range from $500 to $9,000 and require a 50-50 match, which can be fulfilled with cash (non-federal funds) or in-kind services. A 1:1 tree replacement with suitable tree species is mandatory for all funded projects. Applicants must have an EIN number, as payments are made only to organizations, not individuals. A site visit by urban forestry staff is required before submitting an application. Site visit appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the last day to request an appointment being January 10, 2025. No site visits will be conducted after January 17, 2025. The application must be submitted online by 4:30 p.m. on January 31, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to arrange site visits promptly to ensure eligibility and compliance with all requirements before the deadline.
