Grant Description

The U.S. Mission to Luxembourg, through the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg, is inviting proposals for its "Accelerating STEM and Space Ambitions" grant program. This opportunity seeks to foster and strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Luxembourg by supporting projects that promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and space-related initiatives. The initiative is funded under the FY25 Smith-Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds and aims to engage Luxembourg audiences in innovative and educational STEM programs with an American connection. The primary objectives of this grant program include raising awareness about space and satellite technology, space exploration, biotechnology, and other emerging technologies. Funded projects may include educational programs for youth, training sessions for educators, public debates, exhibits, and speaker engagements. Special attention will be given to projects that incorporate interactive STEM learning, such as coding, robotics, cybersecurity, and biotechnology. Additionally, proposals that facilitate knowledge-sharing of American best practices in STEM innovation through expert-led engagements are encouraged. Funding will be distributed in amounts ranging from a minimum of $3,000 to a maximum of $15,000 per award. The total program funding amount has not been specified. The grant does not require cost sharing or matching funds from applicants. Programs must demonstrate a clear connection to U.S. policy and perspectives, and any speaker funded through the grant must be a U.S. citizen. Eligible applicants include U.S. or Luxembourgish non-profits, think tanks, civil society organizations, public and private educational institutions, public international organizations, governmental institutions, and individuals. U.S.-based organizations must partner with a Luxembourg-based entity to be eligible. Individual applicants must provide a justification explaining their unique qualifications for the proposed project. The application process requires the submission of a Statement of Interest (SOI) as an initial step. The final deadline for applications is May 4, 2025. Interested applicants can find additional details and application requirements on the U.S. Embassy Luxembourg's funding opportunities page. For additional inquiries, the Luxembourg Grants Team can be contacted for further assistance. The full Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and relevant documents are available through Grants.gov or the U.S. Embassy Luxembourg website.
