The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services (DMHSS) is accepting applications to support the operations of Youth Team Sports (YTS) programs for underserved youth under the age of 18. Youth Team Sports funding awards are guided by the following principles: Educational Connection and Achievement Physical Health and Well-Being Mental Health and Well-Being Employment Community Cohesion Funding Information Each applicant may request up to $15,000 in funding to support programming. Project Period The grant program, created under the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), and will run during the program year October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025. Eligibility Criteria Eligible applicants should be either a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or another community-based organization operating in Chautauqua County with a federal identification number and charity registration number that is able to meet the County’s insurance requirements. Additional Requirements
Applicants eligible for funding through this RFP must meet the following criteria: • Community-based organizations and non-profits • Provide Youth Team Sports activities for youth ages 6-17 in under-resources communities. • Serve youth in Chautauqua County, New York • Demonstrate basic competency in the areas of governance, monitoring and evaluation, partnership and financial stewardship • Have a child protection policy in place that includes adherence to local city, agency, school district and state child protection guidelines • Collect registration data, including participant demographic information, as required by OCFS in a manner that allows for accurate reporting of anonymized aggregate data
