Women Who Care Fund
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit projects that provide essential services and benefits to families in the Elk County area.
The Elk County Community Foundation administers the Women Who Care Fund, which is part of its broader mission to strengthen communities by helping donors achieve philanthropic goals. Women Who Care (WWC) was established to foster philanthropy among women and aims to support projects that significantly benefit families within the local community. This initiative is underpinned by donations from individuals, families, and organizations seeking to make a lasting impact through community grantmaking. The Women Who Care grant is designed to fund projects that address critical needs and provide tangible benefits to families in the Elk County area. While the fund's core focus is on family-oriented services, the grant is available to nonprofits that can present strong, impactful project proposals. The maximum grant amount available per project is $5,000. This funding helps support a range of needs, such as the purchase of baby supplies by the Guardian Angel Center and experiential learning tools for FSG Elementary School. Applications for the 2025 grant cycle are due by August 15, 2025. Applicants must first contact the Foundation via phone or email to discuss their proposed project and determine alignment with the grantโs objectives. This preliminary communication is required before starting the application process. Once approved to proceed, applicants must complete both an electronic and paper version of the application form and submit them to the Foundation. Further guidance is available through the Foundation's website. As part of the review process, applicants must also submit a video presentation detailing their proposed project. This video is presented to the Women Who Care membership at their annual meeting for review. Funding decisions are typically made within 6 to 8 weeks following the application deadline. The Elk County Community Foundation can be reached at 814-834-2125 or via email at [email protected] for questions or to begin the application process. The Foundation is located at 32 South Saint Marys Street, Suite 4, PO Box 934, Saint Marys, PA 15857.
