Grant Description

The County of Hawaiʻi’s Impact Grants Film and Creative Industries Program (RFP No. 24FM-05 Amendment No. 1) for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 supports initiatives that foster measurable, positive impacts within Hawaiʻi Island’s film and creative industries. Eligible projects may include industry events, workforce development programs, local film productions, or initiatives aimed at economic diversification and revitalization. The grants prioritize projects that enhance the island’s standing as a hub for creative industries while supporting sustainable economic and social benefits. A total of $70,000 is available, with awards ranging from $3,000 to $25,000. Applicants must meet a 1:1 matching funds requirement, which can include cash or in-kind contributions. Eligible entities include nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and state or county agencies that are either based in Hawaiʻi or have operations on the island. Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the relevant program area or provide equivalent expertise and management capability. Applications must be submitted via the County’s online grant portal by February 5, 2025, at 4:30 PM HAST. A webinar will be held on November 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM to provide additional information. Questions about the RFP must be submitted by January 17, 2025, and responses will be posted on January 24, 2025. Required documentation includes a project narrative, budget details, organizational information, and evidence of matching funds. Proposals will be evaluated in three phases, with scoring based on project impact (60 points), fiscal capability and accountability (20 points), and qualifications and experience (20 points). Projects must align with the program’s goals and demonstrate clear community benefits. Successful applicants will be notified by March 14, 2025, with contracts executed by June 14, 2025.
