Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund 2025

The Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) 2025, managed by the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg, provides an opportunity for alumni of U.S. government-funded and sponsored exchange programs to implement public service projects addressing community challenges. Applicants must form a team of at least two alumni and submit proposals that align with themes such as bolstering shared security and defense, advancing diversity and inclusion, promoting women’s empowerment, reinforcing democratic values and human rights, accelerating STEM and climate ambitions, engaging students in English education, and fostering U.S.-Luxembourg transatlantic ties. Projects must take place outside of the United States and its territories, with a priority focus on Luxembourg. Proposed projects can receive funding ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 and must be completed within twelve months. Applications must demonstrate relevance to program themes, clarity in goals and implementation plans, and include a robust monitoring and evaluation framework. Proposals should clearly outline target audiences, expected beneficiaries, and communication strategies, ensuring U.S. Embassy branding is incorporated where appropriate. Projects cannot include activities such as airfare to the United States, staff salaries, operational expenses, or religious, political, or commercial endeavors. Eligible applicants must be alumni of U.S. exchange programs, and U.S. citizen alumni can participate but may not lead submissions. Partner organizations, such as non-profits or academic institutions, may assist in project implementation. Proposals must include key details such as project team roles, a problem statement, goals, objectives, a project timeline, local partners, and a detailed budget using the official AEIF 2025 budget form. SAM.gov registration is required for organizations but not individuals. Applications will be evaluated based on criteria such as alignment with program themes, feasibility, alumni involvement, local partner support, impact, and budget justification. Strong proposals will demonstrate community support, measurable outcomes, and detailed plans for communication and outreach. Successful applicants will be notified following the review of applications submitted by February 1, 2025. The grant awards will be issued as fixed-amount awards or grants, subject to availability of funding. The U.S. Embassy retains the right to amend final funding amounts and will require recipients to submit periodic financial and programmatic reports.
