Western Avenue Commercial Storefront Improvement Program

The Western Avenue Commercial Storefront Improvement Program, approved by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, provides matching grants to support businesses along the Western Avenue Commercial Corridor with storefront improvements. This initiative offers up to 50% reimbursement of eligible improvement costs, with an application deadline of December 1, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.. Eligible applicants include commercial businesses, franchises, and chain retailers located within the Program Area. Improvement projects must enhance the building’s exterior, be visible from the street, and can include exterior paint, signage, lighting, landscaping, ADA-compliant entryways, and more. Grant funding is structured in three tiers: Tier 1: For non-architectural elements like paint and signage, reimbursing 50% of costs up to $5,000. Tier 2: For more substantial improvements, including structural upgrades and full window replacements, reimbursing 50% of costs up to $10,000. Tier 3: For buildings with three or more tenants, covering Tier 1 and Tier 2 improvements, reimbursing 50% of costs up to $20,000.
