Grant Description

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) is accepting applications for the 2025 Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive from June 26 until August 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. This grant aims to fund projects that reduce litter and waste and promote recycling in Nebraska. Eligible projects include recycling systems and equipment, food and yard waste composting equipment, household hazardous waste and electronic waste collection events, school chemical cleanouts, market development for recycled materials, and deconstruction of abandoned buildings. The grant term runs from January 1 to December 31, 2025. Awards will be announced in December. Anticipated funding is $6 million for Litter grants and $5.5 million for Waste grants, with a maximum of $500,000 per application. This is a competitive grant program, and applications will be reviewed and scored based on their content.
