The Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation Grant

The Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation offers quarterly funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations that serve Hampden County, Massachusetts. The Foundation’s mission is to improve quality of life through support of early childhood education, early literacy, education innovation, economic mobility, and other community-centered efforts. Applicants may request funding in a variety of focus areas. Priority areas include programs serving children birth through Grade 3 in literacy and early education, educational innovation for Grades K through 16, and initiatives that improve economic mobility. Additional areas of interest include youth development, leadership training, sustainable agriculture, and essential social services for marginalized populations. A separate category called Community Support Grants offers up to $25,000 for impactful projects that fall outside primary funding areas but still benefit local residents. The Davis Foundation reviews grant applications on a quarterly cycle. Applications are due February 15, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Decisions are communicated by March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31 respectively. Organizations are limited to one application per calendar year unless special permission is granted. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or groups with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. All programs must primarily benefit individuals living in Hampden County. The Foundation accepts applications online and may follow up with questions or to schedule a discussion. Funding decisions are made by the Foundation Board. Six months after receiving funds, grantees are expected to provide a brief written or oral update on their progress and outcomes.
