Veterans and War Memorials Grant 2025
This funding opportunity is designed to support the construction, restoration, and enhancement of memorials dedicated to veterans and military service across Oregon.
The Veterans and War Memorial Grant Program, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD), provides funding for constructing, restoring, and enhancing memorials dedicated to veterans and military service. Applications for this grant must be submitted through the online platform, OPRDGrants.org. To participate, eligible applicants must first set up an account, complete the online application, and provide all required documents and information by the specified deadline. The process begins with creating or accessing an account on the grant system. Applicants must request an account by submitting their contact details and organization information. Approval typically takes three business days, and all communication regarding the application process will be sent to the registered email address. After account approval, users can log in to access the application form and begin entering project details. The application includes several key sections. The Project Information section requires a concise project name, a brief summary of the work to be completed, start and end dates, and specific details about the memorial’s location, including latitude and longitude. In the Financial Information section, applicants must outline project costs, matching funds, and funding sources. Budgets should include categories such as contractor/consultant fees, materials, and equipment, while volunteer or staff time may be used to meet matching fund requirements. All budget details must be supported by documentation such as estimates or quotes. Applicants must also upload necessary Attachments, including site maps, photos, construction plans, and letters of support. These documents should be clearly labeled, with each section marked complete before submission. Files must not exceed 20 MB each, and if a required document is not applicable, a placeholder stating "not applicable" should be uploaded. Once all sections are complete and all required documents uploaded, the application can be submitted. It is crucial to ensure that every field is completed, as incomplete applications cannot be finalized. After submission, OPRD staff will review the application for technical accuracy. If revisions are needed, the application will return to editable status, and applicants will be notified to address the required changes. Finalized applications are moved to reviewed status for funding consideration. To avoid technical issues, applicants should use compatible browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, and save their work frequently. It is also recommended to log out of the system when not actively working on the application to prevent unresponsiveness. For any questions or technical difficulties, applicants can contact Karen Litvin at karen.litvin@oprd.oregon.gov. Additional resources, including video tutorials and detailed instructions, are available on the OPRDGrants.org website.
