This grant provides funding for nonprofit organizations to implement programs that improve education, health, or scientific knowledge for residents of Herkimer and Oneida counties in New York.
The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties is inviting applications for its Education, Health & Sciences Grant. This grant is aimed at nonprofit partners who are implementing outcomes-driven programs or projects that focus on education, health, and/or sciences. The initiative is designed to benefit residents of any age within Herkimer and Oneida counties in New York. The foundation emphasizes the importance of measurable outcomes and a clear timeline for the completion of projects. The primary purpose of this grant is to support programs that enhance knowledge, improve well-being, and advance scientific objectives. Projects in the education category should aim to transmit knowledge and strengthen skills. Health-related projects should focus on nurturing and improving physical, mental, and social well-being. In the sciences category, projects should study or enhance scientific objectives across various disciplines, including physical sciences, life sciences, and social sciences. Funding is available for new or existing programs and projects, but it is important to note that expenses incurred before November 2024 are not eligible for funding. Each organization may submit only one application per funding round. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, organizations with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, governmental institutions, educational institutions, and faith-based organizations that address non-religious needs and serve diverse communities. Certain requests are ineligible for funding. These include applications for projects related to animals or the arts, financial assistance or loans to individuals, funding for religious programming, organizational payroll and operational needs, and expenses that have already been incurred for projects that are in process or completed. The application process requires that all programs and projects have identifiable and measurable outcomes, along with a definitive timeline for achieving these outcomes. Interested applicants should ensure that their proposals align with the foundation's focus areas and eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2024.
