Grant Description

Program Description Overview The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking applications for funding. OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this non-competitive solicitation, BJA seeks to request applications from 6 cooperative agreement recipients that have been previously funded to support training and technical assistance and/or projects that support law enforcement innovation and crime reduction (LEICR). These projects have been funded to support state, local, tribal, and territorial criminal justice agencies, practitioners, and communities. These programs further the Department’s mission/AG’s priorities by reforming and strengthening the criminal and juvenile justice systems, expanding equal access to justice, and maintaining a safe and humane prison system.

Only applicants that received an official invitation letter from BJA concerning law enforcement initiatives projects are able and eligible to apply. Some applicants will receive multiple invitations. Applications will only be accepted from the following: • Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) • The Research Triangle Institute • Aequitas • Police Foundation • Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) • Wichita State University
