Community Collaborative Research Grants

The Community Collaborative Research Grant (CCRG) program, supported by North Carolina Sea Grant, the state’s Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), and the William R. Kenan Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology, and Science (KIETS), funds collaborative research projects that integrate local knowledge and scientific expertise. Proposals should align with the strategic goals of WRRI, NC Sea Grant, and KIETS, and involve a local knowledge expert and a scientific lead. Funding is available for one-year projects with awards ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. Eligible projects must address key priorities outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP), which includes detailed application requirements and evaluation criteria. The anticipated project start date is May 15, 2025. Proposals must be submitted through the eSeaGrant application portal, and all application materials, including the RFP and application form, can be accessed there. Applications are due by January 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM. This funding opportunity encourages collaboration between researchers and community stakeholders to address coastal and water resource challenges in North Carolina.
