Grant Description

The 2024 Placer County Domestic Violence / Human Trafficking Prevention Nonprofit Assistance Grant Program offers a one-time funding opportunity to support local nonprofit organizations dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence and human trafficking or the support of survivors. The program, overseen by the Placer County Executive Office on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, will allocate up to $1.5 million in grants. This program prioritizes nonprofits that faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and no matching funds are required from applicants. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria: they must be registered California nonprofit organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or equivalent entities, such as religious organizations, that are automatically exempt. They must serve residents of Placer County, with preference for organizations based within the county, and their services should focus on preventing domestic violence or human trafficking, or on assisting survivors through services such as housing, counseling, employment training, or other supportive resources. The grant application period is open from November 1 to November 30, 2024, with submissions due by 11:59 PM PST. Applications must be submitted electronically to moneal@placer.ca.gov. Late submissions will not be considered. The review period will run from December 1 to December 31, 2024, and funding decisions will be announced in late January 2025 following Board of Supervisors approval. Awarded funds will be released in February 2025. Recipients must submit a mid-year report by July 30, 2025, and a final report by January 31, 2026. All grant funds must be expended by December 31, 2025; unspent funds by this date must be returned to the County. For further information or questions, applicants can contact the program office at 530-886-2662.
